About the work...

The creation of each piece of calligraphy begins with the customer.  Their wishes about design and color combinations are considered above all.  When these decisions have been made, the piece is laid out in pencil in its entirety.  The lower case letters are inked, and the upper case letters are drawn so that a color may be painted in, then the artwork is inked.  Next all pencil lines are erased, and the painting begins.  Watercolor and metallics are used. Metallics give the work a rich feeling.  All colors of metallics are used to enhance the color combination that is chosen.  Some commission pieces were created where the customer did not care if it was the only one in the world. So, the original drawing was taken to a printer who made me one hundred sheets on a paper that took watercolor nicely.  These pieces went to art festivals with me.  When they were selling faster than I could keep them painted, an off-set color reproduction was made.  Hence through the years I have accumulated 169 color reproductions which I am offering at this time at wholesale prices.

"My goal is to have my art appeal to all ages. I try to incorporate the
experiences of my life with the beauty of the past in a contemporary
way"
